Greenville’s art scene is subtly woven into the fabric of the city. You can’t think of Greenville without the Peace Center, the theaters, the yearly arts festival, the museum, and arrays of galleries and studios in downtown Greenville. Whether you’re looking for a new piece of art, view some beautiful pieces, or you simply want to learn how to paint or draw, you can do all of them when you head to Open Art Studios located in the heart of downtown Greenville.

Open Art Studios was started by artist Ashley Brickner and her artist partners in 2018. The gallery offers collections by new and established local artists in a variety of visual disciplines. The gallery gives an opportunity for local artists to showcase and sell their work. In addition, artists can use the versatile space within the gallery as a studio or class space through their partnership program.

As for viewers who simply appreciate all forms of arts, the gallery features city, landscape, coastal, figurative, abstract, and still life paintings.

If you see something that inspires you, be sure to sign up for one of the classes to create your own masterpiece. The Open Art Studios have professional artists throughout the year to teach classes for all ages. You can learn everything from sketching to painting using different mediums. Check their website for all available classes and simply register. Figure drawing, kid’s art class, and PUP classes are available weekdays. No art training is necessary to join a class, and there is no age requirement.

One of the local artists in Open Art Studios is Jessica Brush, she is a mixed media artist specializing in chalk pastels.  She offers one of the popular classes, PUP (Paint Ur Pet).  Truly a fun experience immortalizing your favorite pet. Follow Jessica Brush on Facebook to see her other works and to check out other classes she offers. All classes in the Open Art Studios are positively engaging and will surely bring great experience for everyone. For a small fee, these classes are excellent options for birthday parties, families, and team building events.

And speaking of events, the gallery has a versatile 350 square foot gallery room that is a perfect space for kid’s birthday party, seminar or a business meeting. It can hold a maximum of 20 people and is available for rent.

Truly there is something fun going on pretty much each and every day at Open Arts Studio. Be sure to check out Ashley, Jessica, and other local artists works when you come to downtown Greenville.
