Foodie Destination of the Week |
The restaurant scene in greater Greenville has exploded off the past decade with new restaurants springing up here and there. Downtown Greenville alone has brought an array of tasty cuisines to pick from which makes it a great place for anyone who wants to try different culinary experiences. This week, we’ll highlight one of the best places to dine and experience Greenville’s gastronomic delights.
Liability Brewing Company
Great beer. Check. Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Check and check. A new Greenville Brewing Company is open and pouring your favorite cold beers in Westone! For the past few years, Greenville’s beer scene has been one of the fastest growing anywhere. The area’s newest is just outside of downtown proper. It is a nice addition to the local craft beer scene.
Liability is spacious with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There’s something for every taste on the tap list. There are IPAs, as well as pale ales. Among the most captivating initial brews are the Ted Danzig and and You’re An Inanimate Object. Liability plans to brew around 300 barrels in their first year with six to eight variations of stout, IPA and seasonal brews.

The biggest sporting event is happening in our neighbor’s backyard
The World Equestrian Games are slated to run Sept. 11-23 in Mill Spring, NC, a close neighbor of Spartanburg and Greenville Counties. The FEI World Equestrian Games are anticipated to be the highest attended sporting event in 2018 and the fourth largest in the world behind the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, the World Cup in Russia, and the Tour de France. The games are held every four years in the middle of the Olympic cycle. The Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) officials said the event could attract more than 1,000 riders, 1,500 horses, and 500,000 spectators from 70 countries.
The World Equestrian Games are expected to add an economic boost not just on our neighbors to the north, but Spartanburg and Greenville counties as well, thanks in part to some half a million expected spectators and participants from around the world. Because the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport is the designated airport of entry for the games, there is going to be an economic impact as visitors explore the Upstate’s additional amenities.
Tickets for all the competitions are popular and sell out quickly. For more information about tickets, scheduling, volunteer opportunities, lodging and hospitality opportunities, vendors, and sponsors, visit the WEG site.
