When Rory and Lee Ann decided eight years ago to move into a brick and mortar space after selling olive oils right out the trunk of their car, they probably didn’t know their business will grow significantly and they’ll eventually have to expand to ‘level 2’.

Since they started doing business in the heart of Simpsonville, Carolina Olive Oil has been offering delicious and top-notch selections of olive oil, vinegar, wine, and all kinds of gourmet food. Over the years they had developed a loyal following. It was one of the first shops around to offer a variety of olive oils and balsamic vinegar from around the world.

Fast-forward to today, inspired by multiple factors, including the popularity of olive oil and wine, and the desire to keep customers happy, locals across the Upstate are raising a glass at the in-store beer and wine bar located upstairs.

Olive Oil and More

Carolina Olive Oil is by no means a newcomer, the shop has been drawing crowds for 8 years and counting. No surprise there, customers often show loyalty to businesses that care about the community and Carolina Olive Oil definitely cares. Over the past few years, they have had numerous wine and olive oil tastings, most of that with charitable connections. Rory said they’ve had raised about 50k over the last 8 yrs that went to local schools, churches, charitable organizations.

As for the Carolina Olive Oil’s offering, the shop stocks its share of cool, obscure olive oil alongside balsamic vinegar, coffee beans, cheese, loose leaf tea, spices, wine, and more. And if you want to be original when it comes to gift-giving, olive oil can be your best ally. Come Up to Level 2

If you didn’t know ‘Level 2’ existed, you’d probably be wondering where the music was coming from. You just need to come upstairs and bask into the relaxing atmosphere of their beer and wine bar.

Level 2 offers 50 different kinds of wine and 20 different kinds of beer so you’ll find something that will suit your palate.  The beer and wine bar is open every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5 pm until the last patron leaves.

There’s no TV so you are guaranteed to have an actual night out with friends and loved ones, where you gather around a table, drink a glass of wine, share some small plates, and actually talk to one another, and of course, enjoy the live music.

They play jazz and blues and features some of the best musical performances in the Upstate like Jamie Wright, Groove Plante, Mac Arnold, to name a few.
