District 356, downtown Greenville’s newest entertainment district is now open.
The new entertainment district adjacent to Fluor Field opened on August 10.
District 356 was developed through a partnership between the Greenville Drive and the City of Greenville. Originally, it was pitched to be “Jackson Way” in honor of baseball legend and Greenville native “Shoeless” Joe Jackson before it was changed to “District 356” referring to Joe Jackson’s lifetime batting average in the major leagues.
The project began in early 2021 and is modeled after Jersey Street near Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. The new entertainment district in downtown Greenville can hold live music events, food truck rodeos, pop-up shops, and more during game days for the Drive. The pedestrian plaza can also be used for other special events.
District 356 also bridges to a nearby new apartment community located in Greenville’s West End, the .408 Jackson, named after Jackson’s timeless record of batting.
Greenville Drive representative says District 365 is becoming what we’re calling an entertainment district. It’s where people come to play and be entertained.
