     Foodie Destination of the Week

The restaurant scene in Greenville has exploded off the past decade with new restaurants springing up here and there. Downtown Greenville alone has brought an array of tasty cuisines to pick from which makes it a great place for anyone who wants to try different culinary experiences. This week, we’ll highlight one of the best places to dine and experience Greenville’s gastronomic delights.

    Birds Fly South Ale Project

It was welcome news when Birds Fly South Ale Project opened in an old cotton warehouse in Hampton Station, an indication of Greenville’s growing brewing scene and it is making a hit in the world of rustic beer styles.
Birds Fly South is known for its Belgian-style sour, funky and farmhouse beers. They use local ingredients and an open fermentation system. The brewery features a very nice taproom which you can tour.
The urban farmhouse brewery and biergarten is a seriously fun hangout. It has everything you can ever dream of: delicious farmhouse brewed beer, friendly bartenders, and patrons, and an upbeat atmosphere to enjoy them all in. While they lack food options, they always have a food truck so you will never go hungry while enjoying your brew. White Duck Taco Shop is also right next door so you can enjoy some Mexican food with your beer.

     Did You Know?

Did you know that there are more than eight breweries now open in the greater Greenville area? Greenville has become a haven for microbreweries and taprooms that serve up craft beer from around the Upstate. The craft beer scene keeps getting better and better making it a worthy candidate for your next road trip (if you haven’t been to Greenville) or if you’re local, a worthy brewery tour.

For beer enthusiast, it’s no surprise to travel miles in every direction to enjoy a refreshing brew. Like other cities, Greenville also came up with the idea to host all of craft beers in one place, and what better way than a craft beer festival? And thus, Greenville Craft Beer Festival was born, now running in its 5th year. Don’t miss the Upstate’s largest beer event this November!

Greenville Craft Beer Festival returns to Flour Field November 4th, featuring 40+ craft breweries & lots of handcrafted beers available for sampling, food, live music and more!
