 Foodie Destination of the Week

The restaurant scene in Greenville has exploded off the past decade with new restaurants springing up here and there. Downtown Greenville alone has brought an array of tasty cuisines to pick from which makes it a great place for anyone who wants to try different culinary experiences. This week, we’ll highlight one of the best places to dine and experience Greenville’s gastronomic delights.

Maple Street Biscuit Company – Downtown

You’ve probably heard of Maple Street Biscuit as this great downtown restaurant just opened a year ago. This is their second location in Greenville SC. The first store they opened is located in Five Forks. The space in downtown is about 4,000 square feet, while the Five Forks location is a bit smaller.

They offer a relatively simple but tasty menu of biscuit-based dishes and simple, complementary sides. They craft good food from great products and using quality ingredients, making most of them in-house. Their signature biscuits include ‘The Five’ which is a must try! They also serve some of the best locally roasted coffee, so good it will turn you into a regular.

The company views itself as neither a franchise or a chain but a group of community stores where they strive to make a difference in the people’s lives that are part of the community they serve.

 Plan Ahead

Adopt a Duck Today!

The Rotary Club of Greenville Evening, a service organization of local businessmen and women, brings back the Reedy River Duck Derby! The 14th Annual Duck Derby will be held on May 15th from 10 am to 4 pm. Spend the day in Falls Park with your family and enjoy all the activities. Line the banks of the Reedy River to watch 10,000 little rubber duckies race down the falls.

Adopt a duck today and get involved in the fundraiser. Ducks are sold at $10 apiece or a super quack pack of 5 ducks at $30.  Once you adopt a duck, you will get a number which corresponds to the number of your duck. The first prize for the winning duck will get a $1 Million Dollars or a year’s worth of groceries from Publix. The second prize is a $1500 cash prize from the Rotary Club of Greenville Evening and the third prize winner gets a golf weekend at Embassy Suites. Plus, many other sponsors are giving away great prizes – click here for a complete list. 100% of the Derby profits will go to local charities.

It’s a fun event for kids and families to get involved. There will be a full day of fun, racing, dancing, face painting, and live music in Falls Park!
