The restaurant scene in greater Greenville has exploded off the past decade with new restaurants springing up here and there. Downtown Greenville alone has brought an array of tasty cuisines to pick from which makes it a great place for anyone who wants to try different culinary experiences. This week, we’ll highlight one of the best places to dine and experience Greenville’s gastronomic delights.
Monkey Wrench Smokehouse
The smell of wood, charcoal, and rich aroma of barbecue may be your first clue that you’re near Monkey Wrench Smokehouse when you’re passing the Main Street. The newest barbecue restaurant in the heart of downtown Travelers Rest is the latest creation of the owners of the popular Sidewall Pizza Company and Rocket Surgery.
This place is all about smoked meat: whether you go for the pulled pork or brisket, you can’t really go wrong here. From pulled pork, ribs and brisket to sausages, mac ‘n’ cheese, baked potato, wood grilled vegetables, cornbread, banana pudding and more, the menu items at Monkey Wrench are delicious. They also have a great selection of beers in draft. It’s one of those restaurants you can just pop in and leave with a full stomach – plus, the atmosphere of the place is cozy and you can pick the outside seating for al-fresco dining. Fabulous meals, tasty brew, and friendly staffs. This is an excellent place to dine with family and friends.

Restaurant Week South Carolina returns August 9-19, 2018. The twice-annual Greenville Restaurant Week celebration gives food lovers the opportunity to enjoy amazing values at almost 50 restaurants in Greenville alone. Greenville Restaurant Week kicks off Thursday and lasts through August 19th. You can also enjoy other participating restaurants in other key cities in South Carolina including Charleston, Hilton Head, and Myrtle Beach.
Every summer and winter, Restaurant Week South Carolina returns with dining deals at some of the best restaurants all over the state. From trendy newcomers to some of the best fine-dining restaurants in the city, the 11-day gastronomic event draws food lovers to try out and enjoy different culinary experiences for a cheaper price. No tickets are required, but reservations are recommended as restaurants tend to fill up quickly.
