Foodie Destination of the Week |
The restaurant scene in greater Greenville has exploded off the past decade with new restaurants springing up here and there. Downtown Greenville alone has brought an array of tasty cuisines to pick from which makes it a great place for anyone who wants to try different culinary experiences. This week, we’ll highlight one of the best places to dine and experience Greenville’s gastronomic delights.
Fork & Plough
Overbrook, one of Greenville’s historic neighborhoods located 1.5 miles east of downtown Greenville, is home to Fork & Plough. It is a neighborhood restaurant, grocery store, and butcher shop opened by Shawn Kelly and his partners Roddy Pick, and Chad Bishop of Greenbrier Farms.
The restaurant menu at Fork & Plough changes weekly so there is something new to try all the time. They carefully source their dishes from local ingredients. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as Sunday brunch. A portion of the shop is devoted to freshly butchered meat from Greenbrier Farms. They feature a full butchery with a variety of cuts and types of meat and prepared sides and entrees to go. The place also serves as a pick-up location for Greenbrier’s CSA program. And another portion is set for wines, and a variety of specialty items, including food you can carry out.
You can’t go wrong ordering anything off their menu. They offer fresh and delicious food and gluten-free dishes for those with dietary restrictions. The service is good and the staffs are friendly and eager to serve. The atmosphere inside is very casual and comfortable with a bar and dining area.
