The restaurant scene in Greenville has exploded off the past decade with new restaurants springing up here and there. Downtown Greenville alone has brought an array of tasty cuisines to pick from which makes it a great place for anyone who wants to try different culinary experiences. This week, we’ll highlight one of the best places to dine and experience Greenville’s gastronomic delights.

 

Abanico Tapas Bar – Restaurant & Music

Abanico Tapas Bar and Music opened doors with the intentions to deliver a multifaceted place to dine, to grab a drink, and to dance and enjoy music. They serve lunch and dinner on the main level and a venue for music and dancing on the second level.

Located in downtown Greenville, the restaurant offers a diverse menu of Spanish inspired tapas and other specialties serve in small plates including Grilled Pork Tenderloin, Octopus and Steamed Calamari. Enjoy hot and cold dishes, salads, meats, desserts and more.There are no rules for this delightful mix and match, and everyone at the table is sure to find something to like.

Piedmont Natural Gas Downtown Alive kicks off the weekend every Thursday night

Free music events abound in downtown Greenville as PNG Downtown Alive kicks off this March 15th. PNG Downtown Alive is a weekly music happening at NOMA Square near the Hyatt Regency.

Roughly 45,000 people attend this event over its 24-week run. It’s a major fund raiser for the Metropolitan Arts Council,  a local organization providing support and opportunities for artists, arts organizations, art educators and enthusiast throughout Greenville County.

There are also activities for the kids, beer and wine for adults, and plenty of good music for everyone. When you feel like unwinding, meeting friends, or just want to have a nice relaxing atmosphere after work come and enjoy PNG Downtown Alive. It opens at 5:30 p.m. and closes at 8:30 p.m. A wide variety of local bands and musicians perform the two-set shows at 5:50 and 7:20 pm.
