Runway Cafe is a bustling American restaurant that draws a crowd with hospitable staff that welcomes you and cooking that makes you want to come back for more.
Runway Cafe took off in 2010 and has been soaring ever since. Located on the South Ramp of the Greenville Downtown Airport, Runway Cafe offers a panoramic view of the runway. You can enjoy fantastic views of the airfield activity showcasing airplanes of all types taking off and landing from their spacious dining room, large patios, or even from the hangar.
They are known for their delicious food and the famous $100 Burger – no it’s not the actual price – it is just a nickname and has been featured on a TV show “The Aviators.” The famous burger, a two half-pound Angus beef patties topped with three cheese slices, and more, is just one on the list of their menu which features names you will certainly recognize if you are familiar with types of planes and famous pilots. They serve freshly cooked-to-order food, including homemade soups, sandwiches, wraps, salads, pastas, and much more.
In this social distancing era, you can feel at ease dining at the Runway Cafe because their space is huge. They even have space for parties. They offer their conference room and hangar for events.
They have a private dining room that can seat up to 35 people. If you are in need of extra space for bigger events like wedding receptions, rehearsals, birthday parties, or any large activity, their 3000 square foot hangar is ideal. When the hangar door is fully open, it unveils a beautiful view of the runway which adds a different level of distinction and a great setting for your event.
Aside from that, they host a number of events every year with a 5k and lots of old planes, a bonus for plane-loving folks.
The restaurant is adjacent to the Runway Park at GMU which is a great place for kids to play with its exercise “Perimeter Taxiway” and walking “Runways”, as well as an aviation-themed playground.
Runway Cafe provides an excellent venue for you to meet, eat, party or relax, whether at lunchtime or for a longer break with family and friends during the day. They are open seven days a week from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and offer great views of the runway and competitive prices.
