Eating tapas is one of the most popular activities in Spain and Natalie, owner of Abanico, who fell in love with the Spanish food decided to bring tapas in Greenville. But, what exactly does tapa mean? Tapas are a variety of small savory Spanish dishes, often served as a snack with drinks, or with other tapas as a meal. In Spain, if you are invited to ‘go for tapas,’ you’ll be visiting lots of bars and probably only taking a single tapas in each. Tapas have become a major part of the Spanish social culture.

Abanico stays true to the Spanish cuisine, their menu is loaded with more than 20 tapas and other specialties serve in small plates including grilled pork tenderloin, octopus, and steamed calamari, along with salads,  and desserts. There are no rules for this delightful mix and match, and everyone at the table is sure to find something to like.

Abanico Tapas Bar-Restaurant and Music opened its doors with the intentions to deliver a multifaceted place to dine, grab a drink, dance and enjoy music. They serve dinner on the main level and a venue for music and dancing on the second level. They also feature plentiful bar seating for happy hour or late-night cocktails.

With it’s cozy, warm ambiance, Abanico is the perfect place for date nights and first dates. It’s also a great place to meet friends out, hold an intimate business meeting or celebrate family gatherings. The dinner table is where you can reconnect after a long day apart, a place to gather together and truly unwind over artfully crafted cocktails (they are famous for their sangria), wines, and plates made to share.
