Tips to Prepare for Thanksgiving

You know when Halloween is over the next fall holiday that will surely keep you busy is Thanksgiving – and it’s just around the corner! Time to prep your home for one of the biggest family holiday of the year. Whether you’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving with your family or with friends, now is the time to start preparing to ensure a no-stress holiday. Here are some tips to prepare for Thanksgiving:

    • Make a list of the things you have to do and when it needs to be done. This will not only help you keep on schedule, making a list will ensure there are no last minute things to do especially when the day of celebration has arrived.

    • Don’t bear the burden of doing all the preparations; buying, making, or serving. If somebody offered help, don’t hesitate to use a helping hand. Almost all guest will very gladly bring a dish or two to share!

    • You don’t have to make everything from scratch. Consider buying if it will save you time and stress. If you struggle baking pies, go ahead and buy.

    • Decide what you’ll need to rent or buy. Do you have enough chairs or table to accommodate all your guests? Check all your stuff for entertaining and see if you can make do or if you need to buy extras.

    • Purchase disposable storage containers. You don’t want to be stuck with leftover food for weeks, if there is more food left why not send leftovers with your guests.

    • Do a walk-through of your home and see if there are things that need fixing. Of course, it is best to start cleaning days ahead of Thanksgiving. Clear the coat closet and entryway, prep guest rooms or kids areas as needed.

    • Decorate your home for Thanksgiving. Choose a theme and decorate your home with the season’s classics like warm candles or wreath on the front door.
