Brief History of Taylors, SC
During the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Chick Springs, a mineral springs located in the present-day Taylors SC, served as the focus of a small Upstate resort community. In mid 1800s, when the railroad had reached the Upstate, the resort attracted hundreds of visitors at a time and boosted the local economy. Taylors also thrive in mills industry in the early 1900s. Taylors Southern Bleachery was a catalyst for growth in Taylors and become a critical part of the industry and Taylors’ culture before it closed in 1965.

Located 7.5 miles northeast of Greenville SC, Taylors is Greenville/Spartanburg area’s largest suburb although it is not incorporated as a city. It is part of the Greenville–Mauldin–Easley Metropolitan Statistical Area. It has a total land mass of 10.9 sq. miles.
