Greer High was established in 1895 and has undergone several renovations in the past, the most notable was the enlargement in the 1970s, 1987, and the relocation in 1998. Through more than a hundred years, Greer High School, has shown changes and growth that made a positive impact in the community.
There are approximately 1,174 enrolled students in Greer serving students from grade 9th-12th. The school is situated on 105 acres of land in a rural setting north of Greer. Facilities in Greer High include 100 classrooms, eight computer labs, newly updated Project Lead the Way Pre-Engineering Lab, science labs, Media Center, the 600 seat Margaret Burch Auditorium, Music Rooms with private rehearsal rooms, Gymnasium and a secondary mini-gym, and a Atrium area that mirrors the IB Programs international. Additionally, Greer High has two art studios, a Virtual Enterprise class lab, a newly renovated football stadium, new tennis courts, a new eight lane track, and excellent baseball and softball facilities that are lighted.
Students have many opportunities to be involved in school, there are excellent extracurricular programs and academic programs including a full complement of IB Courses that leads to the prestigious IB Diploma, 9 Advanced Placement Courses, modern language offerings in French, German, and Spanish, Art programs, and many more.
