Mountain View Elementary was established in 1957. It is located in the suburb of Greenville, right at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It is now serving 849 students in K4 through 5^thGrade from communities in Taylors, Travelers Rest, and some parts of Greer. Mountain View has a GreatSchools.org rating of 7.

Mountain View elementary school is a three time Red Carpet recipient, four time Safe School Award, and has 100% PTA membership. The school is committed in providing a safe, positive environment for students to build their skills, develop and learn. Mountain View Elementary has made significant gains in student achievement over the last few years, they have remained at a level of Good in Absolute and Improvement Rating. Some of the school’s programs include Accelerated Reading Program, CATCH Program, Challenge Program for the gifted and talented, Extended Day Program, Fussbusters Mentors and Mediators Program, Student Awards Program, and more.

Aside from these programs, students can actively participate in various clubs in the school. These include Junio Beta Club, Student Clubs, School Plays and Musicals. The school facilities at Mountain View include 51 classrooms, 5 acres of developed playground, Computer & Science lab, multi-purpose gym, garden areas, TV studio, outdoor leaning patio, and cafeteria.
