In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Chick Springs, a mineral spring, was located in the present-day Taylors. This spring served as the focus of a small Upstate resort community and attracted hundreds of visitors. The local economy thrived most especially when the railroad had reached the Upstate.
